Snoop Dogg continues to make waves in both the music industry and tech industry. With his recent acquisition of Death Row Records, the rapper is showing no signs of stopping when it comes to growing the label and combining it with the NFT world. He recently hopped on a Clubhouse room to announce that he is making his newly acquired Death Row Records an NFT label.
In the Clubhouse chatroom he confirmed, “Death Row will be an NFT label. We will be putting our artists through the metaverse and through a whole other chain of music. Just like how we broke the industry when we was the first independent to be major…I want to be the first major in the metaverse so Death Row will be an NFT.”
Snoop also announced that he is jumping on the cryptocurrency train and making his new album B.O.D.R (Bacc on Death Row) available on the blockchain in partnership with the platform Gala Games. The album was released on February 11 and in the statement, Snoop said, “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value.”
When talking about his partnership with Gala Games and his choice to make his album an NFT, Snoop also said, “Blockchain tech has the power to change everything again and tip the table in favor of the artists and the fans, and we’re going to be right at the front of the pack with this Gala Music deal.”
