Snapchat, following the release of its OpenAI-powered chatbot My AI, has been discovered to be working on a new generative AI feature or offering titled “Dreams.”
Based on the little information known about “Dreams,” the feature appears to be designed to place users’ selfies in AI-generated “fantastical places and scenarios,” according to researcher Steve Moser.
Further clues indicate that the feature might also include a “Dreams with Friends” aspect, allowing for connected use of the new offering as opposed to solo exploration. Other hints revealed include “Dream Packs,” which likely means these upcoming features will have optional paid content available, although it’s uncertain what form that might take at the time of writing.
With over 150 million Snapchat users sending messages with My AI, albeit only 20% of its total monthly users, it is likely the “Dreams” feature will be rolled out soon. We recommend keeping an eye on Snapchat’s official channels for an update soon.
