Florida rapper Smokepurpp has taken his unfinished business with Kanye West to social media in his recent call-out. Smokepurpp took to Instagram Stories to claim that Ye has yet to pay him for his part in the track “I Love It.”
Ye and Lil Pump collaborated on “I Love It” in 2018 with Smokepurpp credited as a writer on the hit song, which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Nearly four years after the release of the song, it appears that Smokepurpp has not received his paycheck for his contributions. No Jumper reported that Smokepurpp posted a video stating, “Kanye, n***a, you owe me like $9 million, n***a. Hit my line, n***a, or my lawyer’s gonna hit your lawyer.”
As well as threatening a lawsuit, the Floridian rapper also posted the Wikipedia page that sees his name credited for the track with the caption, “Receipts ion gotta cap for the internet.” In a 2019 interview with No Jumper, Purpp took full credit for the lyrics of the song. He explained how they came to work on the track, “Basically, it was Pump’s birthday…he wanted to make a song ’bout this and I just wrote a song…it randomly came out.” When asked if he received a writing credit for the track, Purpp confirmed, “Yeah man, I get money.” Ye has not yet responded to the call out.
Elsewhere in music, Twitter has reacted to Drake’s Pusha T diss on his leaked collaborative track with Jack Harlow.
