Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell enters hospice care

Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell reportedly has only days left to live after suffering liver failure.

The band’s manager told TMZ that Harwell is in hospice care, and his family and friends have gathered to say their final goodbyes. He is not expected to survive beyond next week.

Harwell co-founded Smash Mouth in 1994. The band has two top 10 singles to their name — “Walkin’ on the Sun” and “All Star” — and their sophomore album Astro Lounge went triple platinum. Both “All-Star” and Smash Mouth’s cover of “I’m a Believer” were featured prominently in the first Shrek film.

Harwell retired from Smash Mouth in October 2021 due to health issues. He was replaced by Zach Goode.
