After delivering electric pop-up performances with Fred again.. and Four Tet in London, Skrillex now builds off the momentum of breakthrough tracks “Rumble” and “Way Back” with “Leave Me Like This” featuring producer Bobby Rapps.
A wizard on the decks and the mastermind behind some of the biggest tracks in dance music, Skrillex looks to have found his footing recently, working with fresh talent in the likes of PinkPantheress and Fred Again.. to push new sounds in a scene that developed quietly during the pandemic. His latest track brings in hypnotic vocal chops in the intro before breaking down into bass house while working in his “Oh my god!” sample from the 2010 classic “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.”
“Had the toughest year of my life in 22, as did so many others. I literally found myself with no drive and purpose for the first time in my life,” Skrillex wrote on Twitter earlier this week. “For the first time in 4-5 years I’ve found a new sense of peace. It took so much work and sacrifice to get here.”
Almost a decade after his last full-length album, Skrillex now looks primed to release his next complete body of music currently labeled as “QFF/DGTC 23.” Stay tuned for more details.
