Someone grab the Scooby Snacks because Simple Plan have unveiled their take on “What’s New Scooby-Doo?” The track served as the theme song for the kids’ television series of the same name, which ran from 2002 to 2006 on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. Stream it below.
“What’s new Scooby Doo?/ We’re gonna follow you/ You’re gonna solve that mystery/ I see you, Scooby-Doo/ The trail leads back to you/ What’s new, Scooby-Doo?” the Canadian rockers croon on the peppy track, which has long been a staple at their live shows.
The band shared an Instagram post announcing the news, which featured them drawn in the distinctive style of the classic cartoon. They wrote “It’s finally happening! The ‘What’s New Scooby-Doo’ theme song will officially be available to stream at midnight! We always have so much fun playing it at our shows and can’t believe how much love the song is getting after all these years! We hope you enjoy listening as much as we’ve loved playing it!”

In July 2020, Simple Plan parted ways with their longtime bassist David Desrosiers following sexual misconduct allegations made by multiple women against the musician. They were also planning on hitting the road with New Found Glory last year on the “Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead Tour,” which was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
