An Evening With Silk Sonic, the debut album of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak‘s super duo Silk Sonic, has officially been certified platinum by the Recording Industry of Association of America (RIAA).
The record has sold over a million units in the United States since its release in November 2021, adding to Silk Sonic’s 2x platinum plaque for “Leave The Door Open.”Mars and .Paak took to social media to share their gratitude for the feat, with the former writing “Platinum mom! Love you Andy.” and “THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU” in separate tweets, and .Paak sharing on Instagram, “WE DID IT BROTHER, LOVE YOU @BRUNOMARS!! WHAT A RIDE[.] THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED BRING THIS PROJECT TO LIFE! INFINITE LOVE TO ALL THE FANS, THANK YOU!!!”
Earlier this year, the pair opened the 2022 GRAMMY Awards with a performance of “777” and went home with Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song — all for “Leave The Door Open.”
In addition to the platinum certification, the album will be receiving its vinyl release on August 26 via Silk Sonic’s official online store, Walmart and Target.
