Earlier this year, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak joined forces as Silk Sonic. After releasing a pair of singles titled “Leave the Door Open” and “Skate,” they kinda, sorted laid low outside of a Rolling Stone cover story. However, on Friday, they announced their new album is finally on the way with an assist from none other than Bootsy Collins.
On Mars’ birthday no less, the group announced that the record will be released on November 12 and is titled An Evening With Silk Sonic.

The duo first joined forces way back in 2017 when they toured together on the European leg of Mars’ 24K Magic World Tour (.Paak opened), had a late-night jam session together, and thus, a new group was formed. Or as Mars said in a statement, “Remember that idea we had back in 2017? Let’s do it.” Fair enough. Now, they enlisted Collins (who gave them the name Silk Sonic) and is billed as the “special guest host” for the album. Guess we have to wait a month to see what that means.
