Shohei Ohtani x New Balance Reveal Signature Logo

Shohei Ohtani x New Balance Reveal Signature Logo

With MLB Opening Day right around the corner (eight days but who’s counting…) Shohei Ohtani and New Balance have unveiled their signature logo.

The only player in MLB history to receive multiple American League MVP titles via unanimous vote, the new collaborative insignia emphasizes Ohtani’s impressive athletic abilities, tapping into his strengths as both a hitter and a pitcher.

In the sketch, the Dodger’s pitcher and designated hitter is seen swiftly rounding first base. Take a look at the signature logo in the gallery above, and watch it come to life in the below animation video.

“To finally reveal this special logo that I’ve worked closely on is truly an exciting moment for me,” explained Ohtani. “It is a visual representation of my journey in baseball and I am excited to share it with the world. I also look forward to using this logo with future projects that we will reveal throughout the 2024 season.”

“Since joining forces with New Balance, Shohei Ohtani has been nothing short of incredible to work with both on and off the diamond,” echoed New Balance CMO Chris Davis. “We have collaborated with Shohei on charitable endeavors in Japan, global brand storytelling, product, and a lot more still to come. Shohei is truly a reflection of our values, and this is just the beginning. We will continue to innovate, inspire, and give back in a way that can only be expressed through Shohei.”

To commemorate the new signage, New Balance is hosting a pop-up at its Brentwood storefront in Los Angeles on Wednesday, March 27 beginning at 3 p.m. At the exclusive event, attendees will be able to purchase a limited-edition t-shirt – stamped with the new logo – as well as, for the first time ever, 50 New Balance replicas of Ohtani’s custom-made glove.
