See Sebastian Stan Portray Donald Trump in First Trailer for ‘The Apprentice’

The first trailer for The Apprentice is out, offering a preview of Sebastian Stan’s portrayal of Donald Trump decades before the presidency. Set in the 1970s and 80s, the film charts Trump’s rise in the real estate business in New York, working alongside cutthroat attorney Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong).

Maria Bakalova plays Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, while Martin Donovan portrays his father Fred Trump.

Ali Abbasi directed the film based on a script written by Gabriel Sherman. The movie takes its name from the business reality show Trump hosted beginning in the early 2000s, where aspiring businesspeople competed for a contract to promote one of Trump’s properties.

“It’s going to be the finest building in the country, maybe the city, the world,” Stan’s Trump says on a phone call as he prepares to buy The Commodore Hotel.
