Pokémon has shared a new trailer for its Scarlet and Violet game franchise ahead of its launch this November. Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, the trailer offers a preview of the new moves and storylines coming to Scarlet and Violet, as well as a whole new Pokémon.
The video opens with schoolchildren hanging out on a playground, from which a dragon-like Cyclizar appears. When taking on an opponent, the Pokémon is able to shed its tail to create a decoy version of itself, then swap places with a substitute Pokémon in waiting.
In the battle, the opposing Azumarill uses the move Belly Drum. Facing off against Azumarill, Cetitan consumes a Mirror Herb, which copies his opponent’s stat increases.
The games will also have a move called Terastal, where any Pokémon can Terastallize to become a glowing version of itself and boost move strength. Some Pokémon may even take on a whole new form while Terastallizing.
Scarlet and Violet will each feature three main storylines. One of these storylines will consist of the classic eight gym challenges, although in these particular games, the gyms can be visited in any order.
An accompanying Scarlet and Violet card game also received a trailer and is slated for release in 2023.
In other gaming news, New Tales from the Borderlands is coming this October.
