ScHoolboy Q says Canadian police canceled his Toronto show because of Kendrick-Drake feud

The tour kickoff for ScHoolboy Q’s “Blue Lips Weekends” tour in Toronto, Canada has been canceled, with the rapper alleging that the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef may be to blame.

The show was scheduled for Thursday, July 18th, at History, a venue opened by Drake in partnership with Live Nation in 2021. On Wednesday, ScHoolboy Q tweeted, “They just canceled my show in Toronto… Canadian police don’t want nobody from TDE [Top Dawg Entertainment] performing.”

ScHoolboy Q continued with a series of tweets, alluding that Drake and his OVO Sound label were involved in the show’s canceled. “TOP [Anthony Tiffith] was just with [Lil] Wayne & Baby smH,” he tweeted. “PartyNextDoor just had a show at the Palladium. If we wanted to get y’all we would’ve just did it… Now when somebody get hurt don’t cry…”

In follow-up tweets, Q referenced the video for Lamar’s masterpiece song, “Not Like Us,” writing, “Actually I get it… Nvm this shit lowkey hilarious… I don’t know why Dot put me in that fucking video.” Responding to one fan who included a screenshot of Q in the video, he said, “Canceled is all I could think about,” with a laughing emoji.

Replying to a tweet from DJ Akademiks suggesting that it’s “time to move on,” Q wrote, “I never said ‘ima kill somebody.’ I’m saying if we wanted to crack it off we could’ve smH. Rap and move on playing tough is going get somebody hurt. It’s all good. I’m a soccer dad.” Check out the tweets below.

Some have suggested that recent flooding in the Toronto area — which rendered over 100,000 without power and flooded many homes (including Drake’s) — could be a factor in the cancellation as well, but no specific details are known at this time. The official Ticketmaster listing for the Toronto show states that “the Event Organizer has had to cancel” the event, with no further explanation.

Q’s tour will continue with a show in Chicago this Saturday, followed by dates in Atlanta, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, and more cities. Grab tickets here.
