Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum are star-crossed lovers on a mission to pull off a Moon landing in Sony and Apple’s forthcoming romantic comedy, Fly Me To The Moon.
Set in the 1960s, Kelly Jones (Johansson) and Cole Davis (Tatum) meet by chance at a bar. Davis is a launch director at NASA, aiming to lead the US to victory amid the Space Race against the Soviet Union, however, Apollo 11 isn’t going as planned.
“The space program is a bloated mess,” a telecaster says on TV.
Amid the chaos, marketing expert Jones is brought on board to “sell the Moon.” In the event that the actual Moon mission fails, she also covertly shoots a “backup version” of the landing scene.
Rounding out the main cast are Woody Harrelson, Jim Rash and Ray Romano. Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg and Christian Zuber also appear in the film.
Greg Berlanti took over the reins as the director of Fly Me To The Moon after Jason Bateman left the film due to creative differences. According to Variety, Chris Evans was initially set to portray Tatum’s role but following Bateman’s departure, production was delayed and his schedule could no longer accommodate filming.
