Though Marvel fans are constantly eager to know more about other upcoming MCU films, the one that has kept fans on their toes is the release of Ryan Reynolds‘ R-rated Deadpool franchise. When Disney was officially acquired by 20th Century Fox, Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios was quick to see the franchise as a keeper for the MCU.
In a recent press event, Ryan Reynolds revealed key details of the progress of Deadpool 3. When asked about the chances of beginning filming in 2022, he said, “The percentage chance? I don’t know. I couldn’t assign a percentage to that. I’d say it’s 50/50 maybe? We’re really actively developing it and getting it into pretty good shape. What the hell month is it? August? Oh next year? Probably pretty damn good. I’d say 70%.”
Though he noted that he has not kept track of time, he did give a promising update on the scripting process stating, “It’s something that is just a daily process. Writing is kind of like that, you’ve gotta allot time to do it and walk away, and I’m working with the Molyneuxs on it, it’s been great. They’re incredibly talented and so, so smart. They so understand that world and know how to zig when everyone’s expecting a zag, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
Marvel has not yet revealed a release date for Deadpool 3 but with the latest update, fans can revel in the idea that the production for the film has not been neglected and will begin imminently.
In other entertainment news, Spider-Man has made its way into the world of digital collectables as Marvel’s first official NFT.
