Universal Pictures has dropped the official trailer for Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt‘s upcoming action-thriller The Fall Guy. The film, which is based on the 1981-1986 Lee Majors show of the same name, follows an aging stuntman in the industry who finds himself embroiled in the mystery disappearance of the star he is doubling for.
Director David Leitch, who helmed Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train, returns for The Fall Guy, boasting a cast that features Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Stephanie Hsu, Winston Duke, Hannah Waddingham and Teresa Palmer alongside Gosling and Blunt. The trailer opens with Gosling performing a dangerous car stunt as his character Colt. Jody (Blunt) is his ex and the movie’s director, is initially impressed by the stunt until she realizes who the stuntman is. Kicking off with a bit of rom-com motifs, the lovers’ storyline is the start of the action plot when Colt is drawn into a rescue mission for the missing star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
