The organisers of Rwanda’s Volkano Fest have announced the dates for the 2024 edition of the showcase.
This year’s theme, “Unity in Rhythm, Nature, Music, and Soul”, aims to provide an immersive experience celebrating the rich diversity and cosmopolitan creativity of the East African region.
Building on the success of previous years, Volkano Fest 2024 is expanding its offerings to include a variety of activities that resonate with the theme of the forthcoming edition.
Festival highlights will include:
Industry Night
An exclusive opening event featuring a thematic conversation with industry leaders, followed by a reception with artists, festival partners, and friends. This event sets the stage for valuable networking and collaboration.
Live Performances
These performances encompass a wide spectrum of musical expression, creating an immersive and vibrant festival atmosphere. The varied programming ensures a rich experience that celebrates both heritage and innovation in music and live arts.
Curated Film Programme
A diverse selection of films showcasing innovative storytelling and unique perspectives, which will enrich the festival’s cultural offering.
Wellness Activities
Sessions focused on mental and physical well-being, including yoga, meditation, and holistic health workshops, providing a balanced and rejuvenating experience for attendees.
Talks and Panel Discussions
Educational sessions aimed at better understanding the components of the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) with interventions from local, regional and international experts in policy, access to finance, climate, gender justice and inclusivity, environment conservation, as well as tourism skills. These discussions aim to inspire and inform attendees, fostering a deeper understanding of their intersections with the art sector & creative economy.
Volkano Fest is Rwanda’s annual multicultural gathering celebrating the cosmopolitan diversity of African music and arts. VolkanoFest features a wide range of live musicians, bands, instrumentalists, DJs, poets and performing artists, as well as craft exhibitions and sales from Rwanda, the region and the world, through a call to action for positive social change and environmental conservation.
This year’s Volkano Fest will take place from 4-6 October at Nyakinama in Musanze.
