RVB Books Released the First Monograph on Jean-Philippe Delhomme

Jean-Philippe Delhomme has dabbled in quite a few mediums over the course of his career. Magazines, children’s books, animated television commercials and illustrations — any and all means to stay adept to the changing pulse of culture. Throughout it all, painting has been a mainstay of his practice and the subject of a new book published by French publisher RVB.

As the first monograph on Delhomme, Paintings features 175 works he created in the past ten years across the studios he’s worked at in Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Delhomme is characteristically known for his minimal landscape paintings, which are largely devoid of figures in an attempt to focus on the silhouette of the natural and built environment. The book, however, also includes a large selection of figures Delhomme has painted over the years, spanning models and friends who would pose for the artist at his former Bushwick studio.

Paintings is a hardcover book that spans 304 pages, including 175 images and texts by Donatien Grau, Anaël Pigeat and Lucien Terras. The book is available to purchase for €60 EUR / $64 USD at RVB Books.

In related news, V1 Gallery has released a new book on Barry McGee.
