Spanish songstress Rosalía has dropped the music video for her latest single “Despechá.”
Shot on the Balearic Island of Mallorca, the beachside music video is full of what makes beach days fun. Directed by previous collaborator Mitch Ryan, the video cycles between shots of swimming, laying in the sand, eating, dancing, laying seashells and riding in a boat. Consisting of a high-energy dance beat, the track details leaving behind a toxic relationship and living your life. The new music video comes shortly after the single, which arrived on July 28 of this year.
This past March, the Sant Cugat del Vallès-born musician released her third studio album, MOTOMAMI. “I’m very grateful to all the people that have been part of the album, but this album wouldn’t exist without the sacrifice and the dedication and the blood, sweat, tears, literally,” she Rosalía told Zane Lowe about the project. “Being far from home for almost two years. Being far from the people I love for almost two years, because I never did that in my life and I don’t know if I could do it again because honestly, it was really tough.”
Additionally, Rosalía is currently on tour in support of the project. Check out the video above for “Despechá.”
