Nicki Minaj has enlisted her alter ego Roman for a remix of her latest single, “Super Freaky Girl.”
The new version is an extra minute long and features an additional verse and bridge, the latter of which hears her rap about “Nick James,” the rapper’s own take on Rick James who is sampled on both this track and 2007’s “Dilly Dally.” She also teased the arrival of Nick James prior to the release of the original cut, tweeting, “#NickJames is coming to do what the girls SHOULD’VE done. #NickJames is coming to show the girls why they should’ve just sat there & ate their foods. #NickJames is coming to show the boys how to REALLY gag the girls. Pauz #NickJames is coming to restore hope in mankind.”
According to Chart Data, the original “Super Freaky Girl” is currently in the running to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. If Minaj achieves this, this will mark the first solo female rap song to debut at No. 1 this century.
