After delivering a pre-order back in July, Italian book publisher Rizzoli is now gearing up for the official release of Nigel Sylvester: GO. Standing as a pioneer of the BMX scene, Nigel Sylvester‘s ongoing legacy is captured and celebrated in the upcoming publication.
Featuring photography by director, cinematographer, and graphic designer Harrison Boyce, the 200-page hardcover book offers an in-depth look at the eclectic life of Sylvester inside and outside of his life as a professional athlete. The graphic outline of his travels and effervescent energy also offers insight into how the BMX rider turned his hobby into a career and lifestyle through his unique energetic approach to the sport.
Aside from scenes of Nigel Sylvester cycling around his home in Queens, New York, the dynamic photos and short stories capture the icon sumo wrestling in Tokyo, fencing at London’s Somerset House, and racing Ferraris on the coast of Malibu. With guest appearances by a variety of notable names like NIGO, Victor Cruz, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Greg Yuna, A$AP Ferg, Steve Aoki, and Nick Young.
“GO started as a simple idea in Harrison’s home office that’s organically grown into a fully-fledged lifestyle brand that’s taken me around the world on my BMX bike,” said Sylvester. “GO represents the relentless, unapologetic, and graceful pursuit of any dream. This concept has empowered me to dedicate myself to living out my imagination authentically throughout my career. This book represents more than just me; it’s art, a piece of the community and culture captured while filming the GO series that serves as a reminder that a bike can take you out the hood or anywhere you can imagine for that matter.”
Priced at $45 USD, Nigel Sylvester: GO is now available for pre-order with an official publication set for October 11. To celebrate the drop of the book Nigel Sylvester and Rizzoli will be holding an exclusive invite-only launch event at HBX New York October 11.
