Earlier this month, League of Legends developer Riot Games announced its plans to raise money in aid of the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, and now it has donated a total of $5.4 million USD.
The sum was raised from selling battle passes across its numerous titles including Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra and Wild Rift as well as the proceeds from the sales of its Bee skin line on League of Legends. On top of those proceeds, the company also pledged an additional $1 million USD, bringing the grand total to $5.4 million USD.
The sum will now be divided equally among three humanitarian organizations working in the region. Three shares of $1.8 million USD each will be heading to International Medical Corps, Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders, and International Committee of the Red Cross.
