Rikki Rockett confirms Poison to regroup in 2026: "We're definitely doing it"

Drummer Rikki Rockett has confirmed that Poison will regroup in 2026.

Rockett dropped the news in a new interview on Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation. The drummer didn’t mince words, all but guaranteeing that the glam metal heroes will be back in action in 2026 — and with all band members on board.

Host Eddie Trunk prompted Rockett by reading a text message he’d received from frontman Bret Michaels before taping the episode.

“When I announced on socials about a week ago when I knew you were gonna come on today,” Trunk recounted, “Bret sent me a text, Bret Michaels a day or two ago, and he said, ‘Hey, I hear you’re gonna have Rikki Rockett on. Send him my love and tell him Poison 2026.’ What are your thoughts on that? Are you hopeful of that?”

Replied Rockett: “Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. ’26 is for sure gonna happen and like, I mean, unless some unforeseen thing happens, but all band members have stuck their hand in and said, ‘Yeah, we’re definitely doing it without a doubt.’”

Poison last toured as support for Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe’s 2022 stadium tour, though the hard rockers haven’t released a studio album since 2007’s Poison’d!

Michaels has maintained a solo career in the meantime, releasing four studio albums since 2008. However, he’s dealt with numerous health ailments as of late, including diabetes, a brain hemorrhage, skin cancer, and what Bret has dubbed “headbanger’s neck.”

In a post on his official website back in March, the singer stated that he will be taking most of 2025 off “to recharge the batteries,” but also teased potential Poison reunion shows next year (though Rockett’s latest comments imply that those plans have been shifted back to 2026).

“In 2025, in light of some recent medical results and setbacks,” said Michaels in the statement, “and with much discussion and real advice from my doctors and family, I will be taking most, if not all, of 2025 off, except for a few select dates with both the Bret Michaels Band and possibly all original Poison.”
