Rihanna Confirmed To Perform at the Oscars

Following her Super Bowl Halftime Show that is still talked about around the globe, Rihanna has also been confirmed to perform at the upcoming Oscars.

The Anti star will be performing her Oscar-nominated ballad, “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever next month at the Academy Awards. Executive producers of the 95th Oscars, Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner made the announcement of Rihanna’s performance and stated that other talents will be shared in the coming weeks.

Rihanna now joins Phil Collins as the two artists who have performed at the Super Bowl and Oscars in the same year. Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” features music by herself, Tems, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson. The lyrics were written by Tems and Coogler and the track is nominated for best original song. This is Rihanna’s first Oscar nomination. The news of Rihanna’s performance is not unexpected. Some of the biggest stars have stood on the Oscar stage to perform, including Beyoncé who opened the show with “Be Alive” from King Richard.

Rihanna is currently a nine-time Grammy winner with eight multiplatinum albums. The Oscars will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood.
