Rian Johnson officially announced the third installment in his Knives Out series: Wake Up Dead Man.
Set to premiere on Netflix in 2025, the upcoming film will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as private investigator Benoit Blanc. The plot details and rest of the cast are yet to be announced. “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is,” Johnson wrote via X. “There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”
The last two films in the franchise, Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, were both critically and commercial successes. Glass Onion, which premiered in 2022, also premiered on Netflix after the streamer acquired the rights to two of the franchise’s films for $469 million USD.
