Robin Velghe – a.k.a. Rhymezlikedimez – has unleashed his first print of 2024. In classic dimez fashion, the artist has drawn inspiration from a prominent musician from the hip-hop zeitgeist to inspire his latest creation. Dubbed “Heaven To Me,” Velghe looks to Tyler, The Creator‘s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale track of the same name to craft his euphoria in the form of a striking new print.
“The song ‘HEAVEN TO ME’ is another example of Tyler’s ability to paint a specific and beautiful picture through his music. Not only with words but also through chords, he delivers a piece of music that represents a delightful future that you can almost walk into,” Velghe explained in an official statement. “This piece triggered me to create a work depicting my ideal world – a picnic on an Italian mountain with my loved ones and some of the most stunning cars.”
A UV pigment print, the piece is inspired by an animated print Velghe conspired back in April. He wrote at the time, “It’s been a while since I really FELT a song hit my core like this. With ‘Heaven To Me,’ Tyler created a celebration of life and I started sketching from the moment I heard it.”
The animated print is reimaged as a sleek 16 x 20 print, augmented with embossed and varnished elements on 220gsm holographic paper. “The animated version of this piece stands out as my favorite design of 2023,” Velghe noted. “I was driven to bring this artwork into the physical realm, aiming to experiment with a print that complements it perfectly.”
“Holographic paper and spot varnish enhance the shiny aesthetic reminiscent of my animation, while embossment adds a cherished layered and depth effect.”
Limited to just 100 units, each print is signed and numbered and retails for $250 plus shipping. Cop one for yourself beginning at 12 p.m. EST at Rhymezlikedimez’ website.
