Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly made his stance clear on Harry Kane.
There is a genuine fear that Kane could finally leave the north London club this summer, irrespective of whoever the club appoint as their next manager.
The England striker is currently preparing for the upcoming Euro tournament, but his future at the north London club remains a key talking point.
Both the Manchester clubs are heavily interested in signing Kane, with City being more proactive of the two.
According to a recent report from The Sun, City are prepared to offer both Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in a player(s)-plus-cash deal to sign Kane.
However, the same publication has claimed that Levy has no interest in entertaining such offer, and that he wants only cash for Kane.
The report claims that Levy wants at least £150million for his England captain — if he is prepared to let him leave at all.
City need to make a fresh proposal if they want to sign Kane who still has three years left on his current deal.
Levy is not interested in a swap deal, and he is also not prepared to meet Sterling’s £300,000-a-week wages.
The Spurs chairman is also concerned that Sterling, who has won three Premier League titles with Man City, would not want to join a club that cannot offer him Champions League football.
While Sterling and Jesus are very good players, the duo managed fewer goals and assists between them than Kane alone managed last season.
In the current financial climate, it’s hard to see any football club coming up with that amount of money for Kane, no matter how good he is.
