Reebok’s Newest ‘Courting Greatness’ AR Tool Inspires You To Set up Basketball Courts Anywhere

This past week, Reebok officially revealed that it is launching its Courting Greatness Fall/Winter 2021 basketball campaign alongside an AR tool that is hoping to inspire the Reebok community to set up basketball courts anywhere they go.

Reebok is teaming up with New York Sunshine Install Team to make the sport of basketball accessible for anyone who wants to play. Location and surroundings are no longer a boundary as the technology uses augmented reality to map out the rough dimensions of a potential basketball court wherever there may be an empty space for an installation. With New York Sunshine Install, Reebok will also provide users with a way of creating the court using miscellaneous found materials, be it a garbage can or a crate for a makeshift backboard.

To coincide with the launch, Reebok also plans on releasing its Question Mid “Iverson Four” sneaker on July 31. The sneaker itself was inspired by the 2004 national team uniforms. In a statement, Reebok’s head of U.S. marketing said, “For kids and teens living in the city, basketball is the pre-eminent sport, but finding space to play can be especially challenging. We are continuously inspired by athletes who reimagine competition and find alternative ways to play. Courting Greatness will help create access for these kids—and players of all levels and walks—whether they have a court or not.”

Reebok recently installed a basketball court at 36 Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn. Other courts are expected to pop up in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Philadelphia throughout the FW21 season. Check out the installation online at Courting Greatness.

In case you missed it, Apple has revamped its GarageBand with new music packs to include songs from Dua Lipa and more.
