Code Orange guitarist-vocalist Reba Meyers has released her debut solo single, “Certain Uncertainty.”
Opening with a pattering drum machine that builds to a full band arrangement, the song has a ’90s alt-rock vibe — more subdued than Code Orange, but still heavy. Meyers’ powerful clean-singing voice is front and center, as are her lyrics, backed by the surging guitars and crushing tone for which she is best known. The five-minute track is accompanied by a self-shot video directed by Greg Puciato (Better Lovers, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan).
“I’m finding that I have the space only now in my life to have a bird’s eye view on my adolescence, and that perspective, and current time of growth made it the perfect moment to begin to release solo material,” Meyers said in a press release. “A moment I’ve been sure would eventually come, thought I never knew exactly how it would look.”

She added, “With that, I get to experience the rewarding and nerve-wracking process of allowing myself the platform to be a more vulnerable person, and to explore that natural foundation proudly outside of how I’ve maybe been portrayed.”
“Certain Uncertainty” was mixed by Josh Wilbur and features Gil Sharone on drums and Judy Meyers on violin, with Meyers handling the remaining instruments and programming. The track is also the first tease of Meyers’ forthcoming debut solo album, which is expected to drop in 2025.
Alongside the single release, Meyers unveiled a pair of new shirts, with sales benefitting the Braddock Youth Project, a Pennsylvania-based organization that supports youth in creating their own sustainable community development projects. You can pick them up on her website.
