Real Madrid man highlights why he gets stick, dry your eyes Savage

Real Madrid man highlights why he gets stick, dry your eyes Savage

The European Championships have reached the knockout stage, and the first two games on Saturday delivered plenty of entertainment.

Denmark’s demolition job on Wales was fantastic viewing, particularly if you enjoy listening to Robbie Savage make a fool of himself on national television.

Italy were pushed hard by Austria in their last-16 tie, but Roberto Mancini’s team eventually got over the line after extra time.

Dry your eyes Savage

Having suffered Robbie Savage’s biased commentary on the BBC as Wales beat Turkey in the group stage, it was great to listen to his efforts as his glory boys were humiliated by Denmark.

With the Danes leading 3-0, there was a wondrous two or three minute period where the normally motor-mouthed Welshman was completely silent.

He eventually rediscovered his voice to declare that there were ‘no excuses’ for the result before reeling off a list of reasons why Wales had been thumped.

His subsequent interview with fellow Welsh sympathiser Gabby Logan was a sight to behold – a sponsorship deal with Kleenex beckons.

Grow up Bale

Gareth Bale has been an unpopular figure during his time with Real Madrid, with former manager Zinedine Zidane less than enamoured with the supposed superstar.

Bale highlighted why Zidane may have been right about him, judging by his petulant behaviour during a post-match interview following Wales’ Euro 2020 exit.

He took exception to being asked a legitimate question about whether he would retire from international football, storming off camera in a huff.

Bale’s prickly attitude stinks. It’s not hard to be professional and answer the questions. Still, we’d expect nothing less from someone sporting a man bun. Clown.

UEFA music playlist needs work

UEFA apparently has an Official Playlist for Euro 2020, and it’s been updated! Who knew that such things existed?

Presented by Martin Garrix (who?), it is a collection of songs chosen by players featuring in the tournament.

Quite who thought that selecting a cover version of Seven Nation Army is a good idea is anyone’s guess, while the presence of Tubthumping by Chumbawamba is a disgrace.

It’s not all bad, with Tom Grennan bringing some quality to proceedings. However, most of it is garbage. Step up your music game, Euro 2020 footballers.
