Last month, London-based electro-pop artist RAYE took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a Zoom session she conducted with David Guetta and Hailee Steinfeld, sending her fanbase into a fever pitch as they wondered whether or not the cryptic post signaled a forthcoming collaboration.
Fast-forward about three weeks later when The Official Big Top 40, one of the most prominent radio chart shows, caught up with RAYE and chatted about the Twitter screenshot, among other topics. The “Please Don’t Touch” songstress refused to divulge any details on a potential collaboration between the triad, but did confirm that the three have been in touch from an artistic standpoint.
“We was on a session Zoom call with Hailee Steinfeld,” RAYE said, prompting the show’s host, Will Manning, to explicitly ask if they were working on a new song together. “I didn’t say that! I just posted a picture on Twitter,” she said with a laugh before Manning retorted with another question as to why else they would be on Zoom together. “We are creating some good vibes, for sure,” she exulted.
RAYE first collaborated with Guetta on the radio-friendly dance pop single “Stay (Don’t Go Away)” in the summer of 2019 before teaming up with the Grammy Award-winning producer once more in November for “Make It to Heaven,” a progressive house track released in collaboration with MORTEN.
