Top Dawg Entertainment has put quite its stamp on 2024. With albums coming from ScHoolboy Q, Zacari and Ab-Soul, an admirable mixtape by Doechii and an impressive label debut for recently signed Alemeda, this year saw quite the lineup of solid releases from the label’s roster. Emerging TDE talent Ray Vaughn is continuing the trend, set to close out the year with his debut EP.
Entitled The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu, Vaugh’s first-ever long-form project plans to chronicle his career trajectory, a press release conveys. The project focuses on “various experiences Vaughn has encountered through his adolescence, journey as an artist to his eventual signing to TDE,” the release continues, noting that sonically it “delves through his trajectory: the dark, the ugly and his wins.”
News of the EP arrives alongside a new single from the rapper as well – a cut called “East Chatt” which features “Dawg House” collaborator Isaiah Rashad.
“Imagine how I’d be If I gave a f*ck,” the two ponder on the chorus, delivering the track from both a festival stage and a high school gym in the accompanying music video.
Like its release date, a tracklist has yet to be revealed for The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu, though it’s presumed to come stacked with Vaughn’s impressive run of singles from throughout the year, including “Problems” featuring Pusha T and “Everybody Dies” with SiR.
Stream “East Chatt” on Spotify and Apple Music now, and tune back in when Vaughn’s The Good, The Bad & The Dollar Menu drops later this month.
