Rauw Alejandro Drops Breakup Track “Hayami Hana”

Rauw Alejandro Drops Breakup Track "Hayami Hana"

In the aftermath of mutually ending his engagement with Rosalía last month, Rauw Alejandro’s latest single takes a turn for the melancholy. Titled “Hayami Hana,” the all-new breakup track is dedicated to his ex-fiancée, serving as his basis for reminiscence and moving forward.

The Puerto Rican artist surprise-dropped the single on Thursday, making public the grievances he has about the conclusion of his relationship. On top of a piano-backed melody, he sings, “I don’t blame you/The life we live isn’t for everyone: the press, social media, peer pressure/Being far from each other is the hardest.”

Later in the track, the reggaetonero shifts gears into rap: “You are stronger than you think, and I hope that one day we can laugh at our past,” Ruaw sings. “Here, there’s no resentment, this isn’t a complaint/You gifted me the best days, and for that reason I have your name tattooed on my belly.”

“Hayami Hana” comes after Alejandro released his fourth studio album, Playa Saturno, last month. The full-length effort arrived with 14 tracks and features from artists including Ñejo y Dálmata, Jowell y Randy, Ivy Queen, Bizarrap, Miguel Bose and Junior H. In March, he released a three-song EP with Rosalía, titled RR.
