Last week I tipped Krypton Gold on this angle, who ran second at Leicester after being back from 18-1 into 7-1. GENTLEMAN AT ARMS, a 1m6f winner on the Flat at Nottingham in the summer for Harry Dunlop, looks another interesting recruit to hurdles.

OVERCOURT (system – Sandy Thomson winter runners)
Sandy Thomson has a fine record in the depths of winter, scoring with 87 of his 508 runners from November to February (17.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £241.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Hill Sixteen went close for the yard in the big race at Aintree yesterday and perhaps OVERCOURT, runner-up at 12-1 at Sedgefield on his reappearance last season, can go one better this term.

TORIGNI (system – Harry Whittington, young French-bred chasers)
Sandy Thomson has another runner in this novices’ handicap chase but, at a bigger price, I prefer the claims of Harry Whittington’s TORIGNI. I tipped him last time when a gambled-on (16-5 from 8-1) third at Market Rasen, where he probably did well to finish so close after losing a shoe and jumping moderately. The cheekpieces go on and he’s worth another chance. His trainer usually does well with his young French-bred chasers (aged four, five or six), scoring with 16 of the 41 qualifiers (39%) for a profit of £19.51.
