Horse Racing Betting Tips for Monday February 7th
CARLISLE ‘RACING POST FAVS’
CARLISLE hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for market leaders this season with only nine favourites winning from 38 races (23.7%) across teh five previous meetings against an expected figure of 13.62. Today’s card is numerically more competitive than a lot of recent jumps fixtures and it could be worth taking on the jollies. GIT MAKER is odds-on in the opener but already looks as though he needs further than this 2m1f trip, even on a stiff track, and he’s no good thing. Forecast favourite TO THE LIMIT may have been fortunate when breaking his duck at Kelso last time as a faller caused interference for several of his rivals. There’s been strong opposition to ZABEEL CHAMPION (5-4 from 4-6) in the 2.10 and a sell of ‘RACING POST FAVS’ with Spreadex looks the call (at the time of writing the market was set at 95-99).
Recommendation: Sell RACING POST FAVS at Carlisle
WOLVERHAMPTON 7.00
Ed Walker’s HAFEET ALAIN looks short at the current 4-5 with Spreadex and can be opposed. The four-year-old has failed to score in four starts for his current yard and can race keenly, hardly ideal in this five-runner contest. Tom Marquand has been booked, but he hasn’t been operating at his usual rate so far in 2022, winning on just six of his 74 mounts (8.1% strike-rate) for a loss of £58.01 to a £1 level stake at SP (the expected number of winners was in excess of 13). Add the yard’s lack of winners for 68 days into the mix and the case for the prosecution looks even stronger. Back ‘THE FIELD’ at evens in the Spread ‘FAV OR RAG’ fixed odds market or sell Hafeet Alain in the 50-25-10 spread market.
Recommendation: Oppose HAFEET ALAIN in Wolverhampton 7.00
