After going virtual last year, the Pride of Britain Awards returned in 2021 with an in-person ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The event was hosted by Carol Vorderman along with Diversity’s Ashley Banjo, who took on the role for the first time after the death of Pride of Britain’s founder, Peter Willis, earlier this year. In its 22nd year, the awards celebrate the best people from around the UK who have extraordinary stories of bravery, heroism, and selflessness.
In addition to a night of truly emotional moments and inspiring stories, like many award ceremonies we were also treated to a dazzling red carpet where the celebrity and VIP attendants were able to show off some seriously glamorous fashion moments this year. Banjo looked striking in a navy-and-black suit, as did Laura Whitmore, who chose a suit in velvet green for the occasion from sustainable fashion brand, Thought Clothing.
Unsurprisingly, sparkle was a big theme of the night, from Maura Higgins’s sexy chandelier gown and Megan McKenna’s glittering burgundy dress, to TV presenter and British parasport athlete Kadeena Cox’s shimmering emerald number. Other standout looks from the night include Katherine Ryan in a silky yellow dress, Alesha Dixon in a flowing white suit with sparkly bandeau top, and Molly Mae-Hague in a bodycon gown from Pretty Little Things that she helped design herself in her new role as creative director for the brand.
