The news was revealed over on Twitter and says that prices for its offerings will be going up by a full $100 USD as of August. This means the usual 128GB set will now go for $400 USD, while the 256GB version will sell at $500 USD. While the inflation of tech device prices has largely been attributed to the global chip shortage and increased production and shipping costs, Meta actually explains that its raising prices “in order to continue investing in moving the VR industry forward for the long term.”

The new price tags will come into effect on August 1, so those hoping to get the Quest 2 should definitely put in their orders before the weekend.
