Porsche Celebrates Iberian History with Cuarenta Edition 911

Porsche Celebrates Iberian History with Cuarenta Edition 911

Porsche Ibérica recently unveiled an exclusive “Cuarenta Edition” Porsche 911, in celebration of its 40-year anniversary — featuring unique design elements inspired by Iberian history and culture.

In 1984, Porsche transitioned from being represented by an importer in Spain to establishing a subsidiary, Porsche España, S.A., marking a new chapter in its relationship with Iberian enthusiasts. To commemorate this milestone, Porsche Ibérica collaborated with Style Porsche and the Sonderwunsch Team in Zuffenhausen to create the Cuarenta Edition.

“The arrival of Porsche as a subsidiary in Spain and Portugal was a turning point for the brand,” said Tomás Villén, Managing Director of Porsche Ibérica, adding “We are very proud of the work we have done in these forty years, and what better way to celebrate than with an exclusive model of the company’s icon, the 911, for our market.”

One of the most notable details of the Cuarenta Edition includes a custom Quercusverde exterior color, reminiscent of the holm oak leaves characteristic of the Iberian landscape. This bespoke color was developed through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s Paint to Sample Plus program. The anniversary logo, inspired by the Quercus tree, is hand-painted on the rear lid grille.

The interior boasts a luxurious two-tone Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown leather combination, reflecting the craftsmanship of Iberian saddlery artisans. The seats feature Tartan textile center inlays with a specially developed color scheme. An elegant cross-stitching in Crayon and Truffle Brown along the dashboard and upper door panels adds to the car’s exclusive appeal.

As for performance, the Cuarenta Edition is based on the new Carrera GTS Coupé, featuring a T-Hybrid drive system with a 3.6L six-cylinder boxer engine. It delivers a system output of 398 kW (541 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 194 mph. Standard features include rear-wheel steering and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

Porsche Ibérica plans to keep one unit of the Cuarenta Edition as a heritage piece, showcasing the brand’s legacy and commitment to its Iberian roots, with the total production number available for order not revealed at the time of writing.
