Polo G’s ‘Rapstar’ Rules Rhythmic Airplay Chart

Polo G’s ‘Rapstar’ Rules Rhythmic Airplay Chart

Polo G posts his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart as “Rapstar” marches 4-1 to lead the list dated July 10. The single rallies 11% in plays on monitored U.S. stations to become the format’s most-played song in the week ending July 4, according to MRC Data.

“Rapstar” gives rapper Polo G his first leader in his second appearance on Rhythmic Airplay. His prior visit, with “Pop Out,” featuring Lil Tjay, peaked at No. 9 in 2019.

Since its April release, “Rapstar” has unlocked a new tier of chart success for 22-year-old Polo G, born Taurus Bartlett. In addition to securing his maiden Rhythmic chart-topper, “Rapstar” immediately became the rapper’s first champ on the Billboard Hot 100 with its No. 1 debut on the flagship chart in April, where it ruled for two weeks. The sustained popularity of “Rapstar” – it has yet to depart the Hot 100’s top 20 in its first 12 weeks on the chart – set up the song’s parent album, Hall of Fame. The set, released in June, became Polo G’s first No. 1 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and all-genre Billboard 200 charts.
