Following the release of Hall of Fame 2.0 back in December, Polo G has returned with a new track, dubbed “Distraction,” alongside a Christian Breslauer-directed video.
“1st Single Back inna min This just me warning up I’m bout to Really Take ova,” he wrote on Instagram under the visual.
The video chronicles the rapper’s many highs and lows, juxtaposing shots of his graduation with scenes of him getting arrested and seated in the back of a police car. Between imaginative transitions and innovative effects, the adrenaline-fueled visual encapsulates the track’s poignant sentiment.
“We let them cannons spark, play with us, get punished, uh / We really had it hard, now blessings abundant,” he raps. “Can tell I hit the top, now they can’t wait to see me plummet / Like for every win, another L come punch me in my stomach.”
The single arrives after Polo’s recent completion of court orders in April, following his arrest for allegedly attacking a cop in Miami in July of last year. The case was eventually dropped in late April.
