Police Not Charging Ja Morant for Gun Video, Remains Suspended for Four More Games

Following the news of the police investigation Ja Morant over his blatant display of a firearm in an Instagram video, the Colorado police has determined no charge nor crime to Morant’s actions, closing its formal investigation.

The NBA has ordered the Memphis Grizzlies star guard a continued suspension for at least four more gams, despite the player not facing any charges. In a statement, the team said, “Ja Morant will continue to remain away from the team for at least the next four game.” This means that Morant will be missing the game against Golden State Warriors on Thursday, the home game against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, as well as Dallas on Monday and Miami Heat on March 15.

The Colorado Glendale Police Department has looked into the live stream and a spokesperson said, “In this case, it should be noted that on the night in question, the GPD did not receive any calls for service at the nightclub regarding a weapon of any type. Subsequently, no disturbances were reported, and no citizens or patrons of the club came forward to make a complaint.” They added, “The investigation also concluded that no one was threatened or menaced with the firearm and in fact, no firearm was ever located.” On the other hand, the NBA organization has not yet determined if they will be reprimanding Morant any further after the suspensions.
