Pokémon GO will soon receive its first Ultra Beast, according to a new teaser posted to the game’s official social media accounts. The visual confirms the arrival of Nihilego, the Parasite Pokémon, in the mobile title, though it does not disclose when or how the Ultra Beast will enter the game.
“These don’t look familiar,” the game teases in its caption. “What’s going on, Trainers?!”
Nihilego is one of 11 Ultra Beasts that have previously appeared in Pokémon Sun/Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. Alongside the introduction of Ultra Beasts, it seems as though Pokémon GO players will also receive access to Ultra Recon Squad cosmetics for their personal avatars.
While it is unknown when the inaugural Ultra Beast will land in Pokémon GO, it’s important to take a look at the game’s packed schedule in the coming weeks for some clues. Pokémon GO‘s current season, dubbed the Season of Alola, is scheduled to conclude at the end of May, and Niantic has previously promised an end-of-season Special Research story that will launch after June 1, according to Polygon.
Additionally, Pokémon GO Fest is slated to take place from June 4 to June 5, during which the gamer has promised a new Pokémon in five-star raids, though it remains unclear whether players will have access to Nihilego prior to the festival.
