Unfortunately for those looking for reasons to jump into the PlayStation 5 ecosystem, another one of its upcoming exclusives has now been delayed.
Announcing the delay over on Twitter, Bethesda and Tango Gameworks revealed that the release date for Ghostwire: Tokyo is now being pushed back to early 2022. “We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we’ve been hard at work building,” the statement reads. “At the same time, we’re also focused on protecting the health of everyone at Tango. Our new release window will give us time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we’ve always envisioned it.”
Little is known about the game itself for the time being, but it’s said to be a first-person action game set in a strange Tokyo where 99 percent of its population mysteriously vanishes. Your job as the main protagonist will be to bring everyone back from wherever they’ve been transported to and restore Tokyo back to its original state.
There’s currently no precise release date yet beyond early 2022, so those interested should stay tuned for more updates to come.
