Press release by Healthcare Foundation of La Porte:
LA PORTE, IN – Playon (playonapp.com), a unique web platform built to make active living easy, and Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) are delighted to announce their new collaboration in support of HFL’s Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Initiative. The partnership, kicking off this November, seeks to promote active living options available throughout the county, making it easier for residents to get and stay active.
Having launched its Beta in June, Playon has been steadfast in its commitment to centralizing information related to community activities, from local park profiles to diverse programs across La Porte County. The platform, which has been dubbed a “Zillow for active lifestyles,” ensures that residents have an easy access point to discover, engage with, and even register for various activities in their area.
This collaboration is beginning with a digital marketing campaign focused on increasing awareness of active living options available throughout La Porte County. Capitalizing on Playon’s expansive library of community assets, the campaign’s primary goal is to increase resident participation in local activities. By doing so, the partnership targets a broader spectrum of the community, including historically marginalized groups, seniors, newcomers to the area, and every resident in between.
Marc Oestreich, Co-founder of Playon, mentions, “We believe that an active lifestyle goes beyond just physical well-being. It touches on mental health, personal growth, and community connection. This partnership with HFL represents a shared vision of enabling all of La Porte’s residents to enjoy these benefits.”
Sam Maule, fellow Co-founder, adds, “Being from La Porte, it’s our aspiration to see our community thrive. Playon aims to be a bridge, helping residents find activities that resonate with them. This collaboration with HFL is a significant step towards that.”
Maria Fruth, HFL President & CEO, states, “HFL’s mission is empowering La Porte County residents to be healthy and well. Through our collaboration with Playon, we are eager to see more of our residents engage actively and benefit holistically from what our community has to offer.”
The overarching aim of this partnership is clear: encourage active participation in local activities, bolster community cohesion, and promote holistic well-being among the residents of La Porte County.
