Playboi Carti is ready for 2024 – so much so that the rapper infamous for his release delays dropped off a new track and video entitled “2024.” After announcing his imminent project I Am Music, slated to drop early next year (currently with a tentative release date in January) Carti has given a glimpse at what they can expect from his third studio album.
Carti surprise-dropped “2024” on YouTube earlier today, with a captivating visual component. With co-production by Kanye West, Earl on the Beat and Ojivolta, “2024” is a team effort, also reflected in the track’s music video, which sees Carti posted up with his posse, donning an array of statement outfits.
“Yeah, yeah, you came back and you fell, uh / Second place, can’t be in my face, oh, nah / Deep pockets, they think I’m rockin’ Chanel / Fat wallet, lil’ b*tch, you know I got here / Out of pocket with your b*tch, Chanel / I’m growin’ me some horns, baby, I’m from hell,” Carti smoothly enters the first verse. Complete with a classic, repetitive Carti chorus – “Uh, put ‘em on the news or somethin’ / Put ‘em on the news (Ha)” – “2024” is just what fans have been requesting from the rockstar rapper.
