Playboi Carti fans haven’t gotten a full-length release since the rapper released his sophomore LP, Whole Lotta Red, in 2020. Four years and a few teasers later – including a December announcement that the album was titled Music – fans are still awaiting the official word on Carti’s third studio LP.
While a release date hasn’t been revealed, the rapper appears to be beginning the process of actually rolling out the album. During his performance at the 2024 Lyrical Lemonade-produced Summer Smash festival, Carti debuted 10 new songs – a mix of original songs and covers.
The rapper opened his set with the new song “H00DBYAIR,” which was previously streamed at a listening part for Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 1, according to Spin. After that, he played the songs “2024” and “KETAMINE,” which reportedly won’t be appearing on the new album.
According to Spin, he then played his collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin “Type Shit” and his Utopia cut “Fe!n,” followed by the new singles “BACKR00MS,” “All Red,” and another untitled track.
Carti also gave the crowd a dose of his classics from his two past albums, including the famous Die Lit cut, “Shoota.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Playboi Carti’s third studio album.
