Music’s resident rising popstar PinkPantheress has released a new EP Take me home.
The new 3-track project comes just in time for the Christmas holiday – a gift sure to excite her growing international fan base. The EP begins with “Boy’s a liar” and the Kaytranada-produced cut “Do you miss me?,” which were both released last month. From feelings of contemplation to romance and longing, what stands out about the UK-born songstress’ musical style is her way of fusing deep and sometimes sorrowful messages with upbeat music.
The EP then concludes with the long-awaited track “Take me home.” The title track is perhaps one of PinkPantheress’ most anticipated tracks as the leak has been floating around over a year – amassing millions of combined plays between user-uploads on YouTube and SoundCloud. Therefore, the release serves as the ultimate treat for anxious fans as the song includes a few lyrical and sonic updates from the previously leaked piece.
Just like the EP’s other two tracks, “Take me home” harbors a pensive outlook on what the future holds, reckoning with becoming an adult and wanting to stay young – feelings most around the glove can resonate with. “I’m making the most of my life/Till the day that I hit twenty-five/I know that they’ll make an adult of me/I know that I’m not quite ready to be,” sings PinkPantheress in the first verse.
