Amsterdam-born, Paris-based artist and typographer Pieter Ceizer has readied a swath of new work for Art Miami: a wood sculpture dubbed No Tears and a quartet of steel paintings-slash-structures. The latest addition to Ceizer’s ongoing Woody sculpture series after previous Amour and Good Vibes releases, No Tears is equal parts playful and poignant, while the metal artworks show Ceizer’s unique blend of typography and industrial practices.
Crafted by hand at Ceizer’s Paris atelier, No Tears is a nine-inch-tall wood figure painted either peach orange or strawberry red and screen printed with a teardrop pattern and script and contour line detailing. Each is limited to 15 units, signed and numbered on the bottom of its feet, and packaged in a wooden box.
Meanwhile, the four metal artworks are titled Hope, Now Here, Memories and One Day. Fabricated from steel and dressed in vibrant color palates, they mix a typographer’s text-based worldview with the industrial eye of a fabricator, all wrapped up with playful colors. If you happen to be down at Art Miami, you can check them out at booth AM 509 until the 10th of December.
The No Tears Woody sculptures will be released at Ceizer’s webstore at 12 PM CET on Friday, December 8.
