Taylor Swift may have the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to her, but the Philadelphia Eagles have their own set of support.
Top 40 Philly radio station Q102 shared it’ll be doing its part to root for the home team on Monday when the Kansas City Chiefs go up against the Eagles for the first time since the former team beat the latter at the 2023 Super Bowl.
“Q102 is punting Taylor Swift from the radio station for the entire weekend because while Q102 loves Taylor Swift, we can’t get enough of her,” radio host Nugget said. “This weekend it’s really important we show our support for the Birds.”
The station’s announcement comes a couple of months after Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce sparked dating rumors when the Grammy winner attended the football star’s game against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 24. Since then, she has gone to three other Chiefs games — against the New York Jets, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers — and he’s been spotted at some of her Eras Tour stops.
Q102 isn’t the only group of Philadelphia fans trying to keep Swift out of the mix ahead of the Chiefs-Eagles game. During an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, Patti LaBelle echoed the station’s sentiment.
“You know what. Let me say something. Taylor and all your Swifties, back up boo-boo,” she said. “[The Chiefs are] going down. The Eagles are gonna win. It’s a done deal. So, I love you Taylor, but stay home.”
Last week, Kelce made his way to Buenos Aires to support Swift at the start of the international leg of the Eras Tour. The tight end was recorded dancing and singing during the second night of the tour’s stop in Argentina’s capital, alongside the superstar’s father, Scott Kingsley Swift.
Swift even gave Kelce a shoutout during the performance when she changed the lyrics of her final song, “Karma,” from “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.”
During a New Heights podcast episode with his brother and Eagles center Jason Kelce, the Chiefs player revealed he had some prior warning that Swift was going to do something special to acknowledge his presence in the audience of the Buenos Aires concert.
“Yeah no I had no clue that…” he said, before actually admitting, “Well, I might have had a little bit of a clue, but definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, [it] still shocked me.”
