Pharrell Announces the Return of Something in the Water Festival

Pharrell Announces the Return of Something in the Water Festival

Pharell has announced the return of his Something in the Water festival. However, this time around the event is headed to the U.S. capital.

Last held in 2019, the festival had to make noise with the announcement of its return and the lineup does not disappoint. Packed with heavy-hitting musicians, the forthcoming festival features Lil Uzi Vert, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Baby, Calvin Harris, Pusha T, Chloe X Halle, Jon Batiste, Snoh Aalegra, Usher, Dave Matthews Band, Roddy Ricch, Syd and many more.

As a community-oriented event that celebrates art, music and culture, the festival was previously held in Pharrell’s hometown of Virginia Beach. Originally, the festival was slated to return to his hometown, but Pharell pulled out of the city citing “toxic energy” in local government. This year’s festival is set to take place in Washington, DC on Juneteenth weekend (June 17-19).

“We want to show the world that there is Something in the Water across the whole DMV and I want to continue to bring awareness to the greatness within these communities and invite large corporations to show up for the people,” said Pharrell. “DC has always been a deep inspiration to me as a person and a musician.  It is the land where Go-Go music was birthed which has provided so much for our people. Our sponsors continue to go the extra mile to show that Something in the Water is so much more than a festival.”

Those who purchased passes for the festival in previous years will be exclusive presale access from Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. ET until Thursday, April 28 at 10 p.m. ET. Additionally, Virginia residents will have access to a “Virginia Locals Only” presale on Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET. Passes for the general public will go on sale Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. ET. All pre-sale and general public access will be available on the festival’s website.
