Pete Davidson to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ Season 49 Premiere

Pete Davidson to Host 'Saturday Night Live' Season 49 Premiere

With its 48th season cut short due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that started in May, NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) is finally poised to resume. The months of striking were joined by the SAG-AFTRA strike that is still ongoing. Despite this, approval for the SNL cast to resume work has gone through.

Now, the 49th season is set to begin and on top of revealing Chloe Troast as the newest cast member, the first two hosts and musical guests have been revealed. For the season premiere, Pete Davidson is making his grand return as a host after leaving as a cast member in 2022 following eight years as part of the team. Joining him for the show’s return is Ice Spice as the musical guest. For the next week, Bad Bunny will play both the role of host and star as the musical guest.

The return of Saturday Night Live takes place on October 14 with the 49th season kicking off with Pete Davidson as host.
